It truly has been a long while since I wrote a blog post. I suppose I just lost interest in blogging about senseless, meaningless stuff, happily raving on about my interests and small happenings in my life that mean close to nothing.
So I figure, why not use it to vent and rant instead? Maybe no one will see this, but it gives me an outlet at the very least.
Right, University, Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting. Completely and utterly fucked up my Accounting (Financial) 250 exams. Depending on how badly I failed, there are two outcomes:
1. I score at least 45% for the module, and get to re-take the paper without having to go through the entire module again.
2. I score below 45% for the module, and have to re-do the entire module. This will add another semester to my quest for a degree, and cost me S$2000+
Outcome 2 is undesirable. Main reason why, is the extra 4 months I have to spend to get a degree. I am anxious to start working, to start having an income. Many have asked why am I rushing with life when someone at my age (20) should be taking his own time discovering himself and enjoying life, after all, once this part of your life passes, you're never gonna get it back!
The responses I have given range from the light-hearted "I want money" to the possibly naive "I'd rather spend time earning money, than spending money to spend time". Notice how all of these reasons revolve around money, for that is key. My parents are able to provide for me. While we are not exactly rich, we are well off, but it is evident that having to provide for a person's tertiary education alongside another's secondary education does put a burden on them because education is not cheap.
The one reason that I want so badly to start working as soon as I am capable, which I have not yet told anyone, is because I want to start providing for my family, regardless of how small my contributions are. More specifically, I want to help pay for my younger brother's education. I want to lessen the burden on my parents. While I do hide some resentment from past circumstances, let me make it clear that I am very grateful for the opportunities my parents have provided me with, and the fact that they have provided for me my entire life. NOTHING I can ever hope to do, will be able to compensate in any way or form for that.
So let's make this clear. I am not rushing through life. I simply know what I want out of it, and want as much as possible, to achieve those objectives as fast as I can.

RAAAAAAAWR!!
It's been a while, hasn't it?
Many things happened, but the most recent event that is of significance is Anime Festival Asia the Saturday and Sunday that just passed. Spent pretty much both days at the event and going crazy with my money. Only went for Saturday night's concert, lost my voice to Z!!!!!!!!!
Aside from that, nothing of great importance or interest happened, at least, nothing that I feel the need to blog about. Man, if my life keeps up being this boring, this blog will die one day won't it?

Like Zepy of Canned Dogs, I suck at Starcraft
Yes, this blog is still alive, amazingly enough.
As you might've noticed (or not), every time I mention news of a holiday, a long one, that is coming up soon, this blog goes dead for the entirety of that holiday, perhaps even more! Care to hazard a guess at what I'd be doing?
A whole lot of nothing, yes. The life we live is limited, so it might seem downright insane to waste it doing nothing, especially when it seems like I'm in times that requires action a lot more. I won't elaborate, but perhaps that is the very reason why I often choose to do nothing instead of something, or anything at all for that matter.
For the first time in my life, I decided to take part in a large event, namely the launch of a game, Starcraft II. While I may not have been waiting and anticipating a sequel for 12 years like some have, or even played the game much, I most certainly enjoyed what little bits and pieces of the first game that I've played quite a few years back. After being told that a launch event was to be held at Funan Digitalife Mall, I checked and saw that the first 1337 people in line would get a special silver dog-tag.
Attracted by the freebies and the game itself, I promptly made the decision to go pick the game up at the launch event instead of picking it up at the shop a day later. Only on that morning, at 8am did I thought to myself "This is my first time doing something like this!" Prior to this, I have not experienced such at atmosphere.
The various activities such as introducing people to the development team of SCII, began at 10am, while the launch of the game itself, and also the time where we would begin to receive our copies of the game, starts at 12:30pm.

Don't be fooled, there was some 200 odd people already inside the building, sitting in queue. My position was somewhere in the 300s.

Another 15 minutes, it turned into that.

And another hour or so, this mass of people gathered.

Photo of Brian Kindregan, Lead Writer for SCII. In a brief conversation with him during the autograph session, he told me that it was his first time in Singapore, seemed rather happy to be here. At first, only the first 200 people in line would get the autograph, but he apparently just kept on going regardless, which was why many others also got it. Pretty nice of him, don't you think?

You've seen the line outside, this is the mess inside. Still a way to go till you get your hands on your own copy of SCII after being ushered into the mall by the crew outside. Showmatches kept everyone entertained though.

Photos of the stuff that I got. The poster is quite nice, so is the 1337 tag that I managed to get my hands on. The t-shirt, I'll leave for another post.
Yay for absurdly long post.

STAND UP!!
IT'S IN OUR SIGHTS! THE OASIS KNOWN AS HOLIDAYS ARE NEARLY HERE!!!
Starts the week after the next, actually.
Nothing interesting ever since the last post, except for the rush of work that flooded most of us at school. Namely, the Economics commentary work and English Individual Oral Presentation (IOP), and for some, their Maths Internal Assessment pieces.
Went to the Assisi Hospice Charity Carnival for the first time on the 29th, not voluntary though. The entire class was kinda forced to participate by running a games store. Half-assed effort resulted in pretty bad "business" for the morning, according to the rest of the people who turned up for their shifts after mine. Thankfully, someone brilliantly improved the game that our store was running and we ended up being marginally successful.
Went to Viky's birthday "party" on the 28th, Friday. After everyone was present at around 4pm, took us a while to get to our destination, Wild Wild Wet. Had a bit of fun, but finishing up was kinda dragged on with reluctance too. Pretty fun day.
Been playing lots of Red Dead Redemption. The game has its fair share of hilarious bugs that were of legendary quality, of which I actually appreciated, but the gameplay itself was great. Definitely recommend to those who can get it.
If you must know, no aspiring plans for the holidays. I doubt the teachers will let us off easy seeing as we have 7 weeks of "nothing" in their eyes.

Mad rush
Went to Tioman on the 23rd of March for my Biology field trip. Not exactly a relaxing trip seeing as we're there to work, work, and work. Snorkeling, while fun, wasn't exactly doing anything for me seeing as without my glasses, I couldn't really see anything. Richard, our group leader, would point at something and go "Did you see what I pointed at? It was [insert name here]". Everyone would nod and understand, while I'd nod knowing what he was talking about, and explaining, but not seeing a damn thing.
The hike up the forest was rather tiring, but at least it's better than the climb up Mt.Merapi in Sumatra. Didn't help that I got stomach ache when we reached our second survey site. Other things of note was that the food there was awesome, and we generally had fun.
Got back to Singapore on the 27th, and two days later, it's back to Malaysia again. I didn't return to Segamat, just stayed in Seremban at my grandmother's place. Lots of relatives came back, but other then talking to each other, only thing to do there was to spectate quarrels between my grandmother and a mentally ill aunt of mine. Amusing, but noisy.
Mad rush of work to do when school started again on the 12th of April. Still ongoing, I think. Now that we're nearly at the mid-year point, all the Internal Assessment pieces are piling up, with deadlines looming, but it's all under control.
Got a Acer S243HL monitor, it's not the best out there, but for what I paid for (about S$325, price in Singapore is about S$500), it's pretty much what I want (HDCP support on HDMI port). So now, I can play PS3 in my room~! Like the reviews would tell you if you bothered to read them, the contrast on this thing isn't really good, causing the picture quality to be rather inferior, but it CAN be fixed. There's automatic setups for things like the contrast, colour and brightness, but they don't work that well. I spent around 30 minutes messing around with the settings until the picture quality matched that of my TV's.
Didn't buy Final Fantasy XIII, but my cousin did. So when he went to Australia with his family to attend his brother's University graduation ceremony and for vacation, I borrowed the game from him, and finished it within two weeks, the duration of his trip. Basically, I just got the game, sat down whenever I had free time, and rushed the heck out of it. That's not to say I blindly rushed through the game's plot, I did do some sidequests and grinded a fair bit. Not as bad a game as some would claim, but just doesn't really feel like a Final Fantasy game.
This post is running a bit too long now yeah?

Gasp! A post!
It's been more than a month, is he finally giving up on blogging?
Naw, apparently not. Like I've said, this blog will only be updated when there's something of note. No sense in posting an update on how I hit my foot the day or what I ate for dinner last night (it was soup) yeah? I have a plain life, sue me if you can.
Been really hooked on Bad Company 2 ever since it was released. I got Resident Evil 5 Alternative Edition too, it's the Region 3 one, not the Japanese Region 2 or the Europe Region 2 or the North America Region 1. Never been much of a Resident Evil player, so first few chapters I sucked horribly.
I encourage those of you who can and are interested to get Bad Company 2, it's a good shooter, might even replace Modern Warfare 2 for some. Dice has excellent support of the game with things like the dedicated servers that people take for granted. I like how team based the game is, but the downside to that is getting some frustratingly stubborn players who refuse to work with the team or just waste tickets for no good reason, like rushing straight into a heavily defended room where the M-comm is without precaution. The game, with its wide array of equipments and styles of gameplay can result in sometimes unpredictable and unorthodox ways of playing.
That aside, Day of Miku concert was awesome, definitely going to order the DVD from Amazon when its released. Pity that some songs were rushed through and some great songs like Packaged and Love is War wasn't included. Oh well, hopes for the next concert I suppose.

Is there a point in titles for blog entries?
Oh hey look, it's an excuse to squeeze in another post for the month to make it look like I'm hard at work, maintaining the blog. Why do I even bother, that's such a huge lie and the world knows it~!
Really, you'd think 3 year later I'd bother to change the layout of this blog even a little, but evidently I'm too lazy. Maybe SOMEDAY I'll get off my arse and do something about it, but you'll have to deal with this dullness until that miracle happens yeah?
Bought both the 2nd and 1st game of the Mass Effect trilogy. The 2nd game just came out quite recently, and because I nitpick on tiny little details, figured I might as well plough through the 1st game. I find it nifty how seemingly tiny decisions can have huge consequences that carry on to the sequel in the series.
Just last week I finished Valkyria Chronicles, and even finished the Edy Detachment DLC and Selvaria DLC. I'll put 2nd playthrough and the EX Skirmish missions after I finish up Eternal Sonata. I believe I'm nearing the latter part of that game, with a while more to go and one huge arse dungeon ahead of me. Don't you just LOVE dungeon crawling?
Went out with schoolmates and friends to the Manhattan Fish Market at Plaza Singapura for lunch yesterday. First time eating there, and I think I may be returning again for a meal or two, the food is good there, if you don't mind the prices, it's seafood afterall.
Though school's been on for 4 weeks already, I've only my first taste of the full swing of things just this last week, when ALL my CCAs finally started. Homework is at a manageable level, I've been through much worse, so I'll do fine. Lessons wise, things are going fine so far, though I do have to put in noticeably more effort then I did the last few years of my life. I'll have to put in more for this year and the next if I want to get into SMU. Guess that means I actually have to work these two years eh?

Round and round, round and round~
I hate New Year(s). They signify the end of the holidays, and the beginning of another year of "education". On the other hand, a new year means new stuffs to play, read or watch.
Got myself a new laptop, the Asus U80V for S$1700. It may not be the Quad Core one that I was looking for (because they had nothing decent), but at least I got a pretty good deal. My experience with Windows 7 so far has been rather positive, only with a few bumps here and there that comes with having a whole new OS.
Got Assassin's Creed II and basically just played through the entire game in one week, even completing things like getting Altair's armor and synchronizing all the viewpoints. It's a vast improvement over the first game.
Watched my cousin finish playing Valkyria Chronicles and picked up on my game too. I wanna complete it before the end of the month because the sequel is coming out on the 21st.
New season has good stuff to watch, stuff that I really look forward to, like the new season of Hidamari Sketch, and also plenty of good games coming out this year. Hoping Diablo III will make it this year.
That aside, school's starting again, and Grade 11's supposedly much different then Grade 10. But do not be mistaken, I am in no way excited or looking forward to school at all.

Disctractions distractions
Really now, when did everything else besides "play" become a job?
Would firstly like to congratulate Greggy on getting a blog!
Finished my last IGCSE paper on Friday the 13th, Black Friday! Official end of the IGCSEs (meaning the last paper) was on the 16th. There were 2 more fencing lessons, one during the exam periods and one after. Donovan (did I spell that right?) and I were the only Grade 10 students who went for the first session, and I was the only Grade 10 student there for the last session of the year.
Meeting some of coach's other students and having a go with them was really fun, and just blatantly SCREAMED in my face that my current standards are, lacking, to say the least. I've come to known ridiculously fast and precise strikes (ow my foot ;_;). Here's hoping the club will be more active next year.
Got Borderlands recently, really hooked on it. Still waiting for PSN Asia to get the DLC up on PSN. Played Katamari Tribute too. The new stuff in it were awesome, as expected, and the game still retains that charming quirkiness, the old levels are very nostalgic, saying the game is awesome is an understatement.
Nearing the 28th and 29th now. My cousin comes back from Australia on the 28th, and we'll both be getting new computers on the 29th during the last day of SITEX, an IT Exhibition. While my current one is still functioning well, there seems to be some serious problems with the display card,as any games I try to run on it will kill the computer off, forcing a complete reboot. I plan to use this for school work, seeing as it's still perfectly functioning in terms of every other thing aside from games.
Regret not going to the AFA (Anime Festival Asia) in Suntec, because apparently it was filled with awesomeness.

Dun dun! The update that's nearly 3 months old!
Yes, evidently, I've been slacking off big time. Sorry bout my life being that uneventful =p
Finally got Oboro Muramasa when it reached Funzcentre. Beautiful game, and extremely fun, though rather challenging considering I completely ignored Musou mode and just started the harder Shura mode. Got Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days too. Very different from the main games, but stil fun. Panel system confused me at first though.
Got Katamari Tribute too, though I haven't even played it once because I recently revisited Ragnarok Online, playing on a private server. Just 2 days ago on the 24th, Saturday, my mom and younger brother went back to my grandmother's place in Seremban with my aunt to visit a sick family friend. Didn't follow cause I was being an uncaring bastard, and I hate crazy long car trips. That and there wasn't enough space on the car to carry another passenger.
Basically, had about one and a half day of being completely alone at home. I must admit I'm rather fond of it, though I've yet to learn how to operate the washing machine.
Fall Season anime started airing around the beginning of October, lots of good stuff to watch. Funny how I never mentioned anything about studying huh?
Well, tomorrow marks the first day of the IGCSEs for me. For me, it'll last for a total of 3 weeks, with a total of 9 days I have to go to school. RAGING over the timetable because IMO the stupid thing was basically dragging the bloody exams. Only thing I have in my mind is to get it over with, and the only thing I can see is the end.
Won't be posting book logs here anymore, instead, I've decided to keep a private log, not that anyone but me cares. Well, expect a post around mid-November when the exams end, cause I'll be overjoyed to have finished it.

At Peace
Finished flower today. All I can say about it is that its beautiful, and the whole reviving nature thing can be related to Okami when you revive the lands. It feels great to see the colours being restored to the land. The game itself uses the PS3's six-axis motion control very well, a solid feel and good sensitivity, making it feel exactly right. Relaxing game, although there's no actual replay value, it definitely feels welcoming to revisit the levels. I recommend it for those who have a PS3.
Katamari Tribute/Forever already out in Japan for about a week now. Played the Japanese demo of it, and the game succeeds in maintaining that fun, colourful gameplay that I remember from We Love Katamari. The new graphic filters look great, the songs are nostalgic, and the remixes are fresh, the new gameplay modes are good, and the entire game looks great in HD. Definite buy in September when it comes out.
Geez, doesn't that make this blog look like some game review site? Don't worry, it won't turn into one, though you may see frequent rantings about how great some games are from me.
Been playing Warhawk with Kelvyn and Julian a lot recently. While I'm better at dogfighting and using a tank, Kelvyn's undeniably clever with his use of the various vehicles and Julian can be rather sneaky.
Finished our IGCSE mocks a week ago, and then the trip that was supposed to happen didn't due to a lack of interest, with only 28 out of some 80+ people actually having signed and payed up. In class, every teacher's reaction was like "You're not supposed to be here in school for another week!". I myself, didn't even sign up for it, and you don't need me to elaborate on why. Full force of school life hit me again after 5 weeks off and 2 more weeks of rather loose days of exams. Damn, I hate this, is what I'd say, but I've no choice but to accept it.
Watched the 6th movie of Kara no Kyoukai. Very airy feeling compared to the other 5, but it fits Azaka very well. 7th movie will be the last, kinda sad about that, but I hope they'll end it spectacularly.

The long overdue update
At last, it's here, right? It's been a month since my last post, and there's good reason for it (or bad excuses depending on how you see it).
School holidays started on the 8th of June, and lasted all the way until the 10th of July, which means it was 5 weeks long. Some of you may know, some of you may not, but I went to London for 3 weeks during the holidays. Stayed in our apartment and met up with my elder brother, who currently lives and studies there. Having most of your meals at the same restaurant everyday can get pretty sickening.
Also went to Amsterdam for 5 days, basically just running around the place and visited some family friends. The smell of cannabis around was pretty much the most horrible thing about that place, and the people's lifestyle and living conditions didn't really appeal to me. No, I don't mean that the place was horrible, just bad for people like me.
Found out about Michael Jackson's death the night after I came back from Amsterdam. Everyone went to sleep and I found out from Kotaku. Rest in peace.

One of the ways they advertise in Amsterdam. Horses were huge.

Thames Square, Amsterdam

Cheese factory~ Holland cheese is good~ Smoked cheese nyoron~

I prefer old cheese though, nice strong taste to it. My dad liked the herb and garlic one.

From left to right: Xui Ting, Jian Xun (elder brother), Me, Jian Kun (younger brother), Tiffany, Cecilia, my mom.

Holland pancakes are excellent, especially the traditional cheese one. This one's banana with whipped cream IIRC, what my elder brother ordered.

This cat here only appears at restaurant when it dark, and only eats beef, nothing else. Oh man, how I'd love to take her home~

Michael Jackson's memorial "shrine" located at the O2 Arena.

Another "shrine" we found while walking around in London.

The O2 Arena, where Michael Jackson was supposed to perform in a few months. We watched Transformers 2 there. Only criticism I had was the typical bad plot, and the slight slack on the CG parts, definitely less attention to detail compared to the previous one.
That pretty much concludes the trip (and my holidays, the non-stop gaming parts omitted). Got back and stayed one night in Singapore, then left again for M'sia. I believe I only stayed in Singapore for a total of 5 days throughout the holidays. The rest was spent in Europe and Malaysia.
Well hey, can't forget the books now can we?
Light novels:
-Toradora! - Volume 8 GET!
-Spice and Wolf - Volume 8 GET!
Got Knights in the Nightmare as well, bloody weird game (not surprising from Sting), but very enjoyable.
IGCSSE mocks started today. And I didn't know about it until last night, when Robert said complained about English Literature being the first paper. My reaction was "English paper? OHSHI MOCKS!"
Updates MIGHT be limited over the next few weeks, but don't count on my word. It could go both ways.

Just made it in time~!
It's been a long while since my last post. Updates are getting less and less frequent nowadays yeah?
First of all, would like to give my gratitude to Brother Michael, who left on a sabbatical and will be absent from 9 months to 3 years. He has, no doubt made school a much better place for many students, and his absence will be greatly missed.
Chinese IGCSE on the 14th and the 19th, I suppose it went fairly well for me, although having to stay in the hall and wait for the exams to end was a slight bit irritating, because there were quite a lot of people who finished the paper ahead of time.
New books are a given!
Light Novels:
- Bungaku Shoujo - Volumes 1,2 and 6 GET!
- To Aru Majutsu no Index - Volume 8 GET!
Manga:
- Bakuman - Volume 2 GET!
- To Aru Kagaku no Choudenjibou - Volume 1 GET!
- Lucky Star - Volume 6 GET!
Went out with Greggy, Patrick, Robert and the lot to watch Angels and Demons, although my original intention was to play Melty Blood Actress Again at the arcade with Greggy before the movie start, but eventually decided to watch the movie when Patrick and the rest wanted to watch it earlier.
Went for a Shakespeare play, called Much Ado About Nothing. Played MBAA again before we headed to the play. Ended up playing through Story Mode and beating the final boss all on one playthrough. Was a pretty fun night, especially on the way to Gothic Gate where the play was. Whole group of us gathered at Plaza Sing, next to Dhoby Ghaut MRT, and started walking there, but it soon turns out that we were lost, and pretty much spent about 10 minutes walking around in circle, trying to find our way, going up and down the hill.
The play itself was pretty understandable, given that none of us haven't actually studied it yet. Rather amusing, I must say. After it ended, me and Gerard decided to share a cab back home, stopping by 7-11 near Cathay for a drink first. Talked with the taxi driver, who ranted endlessly about people driving in Malaysia, pretty amusing too.
Went to Funan Digital Mall today to get a new camera, point and shoot, nothing fancy like a DSLR. Got the Canon IXUS 990 IS, which has automatic mode that camera idiots like me and my family can use to take pictures properly. Definite improvement over the last camera we had, with pictures to prove.

Another picture of my room, compare it with the one I posted before, and you'll notice the significant difference in picture quality.

Bought a new bookshelf on the 23rd, a MUCH larger one compared to the my old one.

!!!
Tada! I got a PS3! A white, shiny, new PS3! Although now my wallet is flat. Got an arcade joystick that works with the PS3, PS2 and the PC, so that I could play Melty Blood with it. Whee~
Hopefully I'll update soon yeah? >_>

The Promised Update~
You know, looking back, this blog really was active wasn't it? 8 updates per month...what the hell prompted me to write so much?
Well, it's probably because my life's been rather uneventful lately, though I can't say I don't like it. In fact, I prefer it this way.
The whole time I was in Segamat was pretty boring except when I met up with some friends. You could say it was mostly due to the crappy net there. Seriously, the cables outside are so badly maintained that one rain is enough to kill the net and phone lines.
New desktop finished and functional when we got back to Singapore, so I installed a few things to try it out, definitely works excellently, unlike my current laptop. So, I was thinking to getting a desktop next instead of another laptop seeing as I won't be going anywhere soon.
Man, time really does fly when you're having fun (was I?) and tomorrow, school's starting again.

And then, BAM!
It's been more then a month now yeah?

Huge arse box there is my cousin's Hayate figure.

Pictures of my small, old room.
I moved out of that rented apartment on the 28th of February, and moved into a new one. Much bigger place, and I now get to have my own room.
Regardless of how I much complain about it's size, or how dusty it gets the moment the windows are open (the reason why I almost never open them), or how noisy some of my (former) neighbours can be, I have to admit that I'm gonna miss the place.

New desk and whatnot. Having that slide-out side table is great for doing work on. I now have a proper desk to study~

Same old bookshelf. Since I have more space now, I'm trying to see if I can get a larger one. After all, the amount of books I have will only increase.
The view from above is great, especially at night. Only thing I don't like about living 11 floors above is that the elevator kinda takes it's own sweet time.
New books corner~
Light novels:
-Toradora! - Volume 7 GET!
-To Aru Majutsu no Index - Volume 7 GET!
-Bungaku Shoujo - Volumes 1 and 2 on order, 3-5 GET!
Illustration books:
-Kozue Amano Illustration Works - Alpha, Stella and Cielo GET!
-Aria the Illustration Avvenire - GET!
Now my Okami Art Book has companions.
I'll be going to the PC Show at Suntec City next Saturday (14th of March). There's a few things that I need to buy there. Things have been rather hectic as of late, with our teachers now starting to push us to work and the approaching IGCSE. While some may whine about it, I just wanna get over and be done with it.
Have semi-solid plans for the future already. After much thinking, I figured it'd be better if I just finish my IBs here and then go to a University here in Singapore.

Money money money~
SPARE ME A DIME?!
Nah, just kidding.
Skipped school on the 23rd, original plan was to go back to Malaysia that morning. My father came to Singapore by train, since he was the one who'd drive us back, since apparently, my mom can't keep her cool when there's a crazy ass traffic jam.
That plan just got shot to hell the moment my father heard that we won't be going to school the next day. He immediately said that we should go now (12:30 midnight, Thursday) because there wouldn't be any cars, thus no traffic jam.
So fucking glad we did that. Apparently, according to the radio, both the Causeway and the Second Link had heavy traffic jams since early morning on the 23rd. When we went that night, there was like, only five or six cars, excluding us, there.
Chinese New Year! Reunion dinner and whatnot. Recieved angpau money (always welcome) when we went to my grandmother's house on the 25th. 'twas pretty fun.
Came back to Singapore on the 27th, via Second Link and luckily, no traffic jams.
Of course, over the course of the past few weeks, there cannot be a lack of new books.
Light novels:
-Aria~Shiki no Kaze no Okurimono - GET!
-To Aru Majutsu no Index - Volume 6 GET!
-Toradora! - Volume 6 GET!
-Shinigami no Ballad - Volume 8 GET!
Manga:
-Tegami Bachi - Volume 5 GET!
-.hack//XXXX - Volume 2 (END) GET!
-Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica - Crimson series Volumes 1-2 GET!
There's probably a few who have heard me rant about Odin Sphere and about the Gwendolyn figure.

1/8 scale, S$118.
I got it >=D and it's totally worth the money.

And then it hit me
A few days into a new year, then it really starts sinking in. All that you've treasured so far, is now known as "last year". What I've done, enjoyed, felt, experienced, now nothing but memories that will slowly fade with time.
This year, my friends in Malaysia would be taking their SPM, and I my IGCSE. I've started thinking about it since two years ago, but I've yet to find an answer to it.
What the hell am I going to do?
Suffice to say, my foreseeable future is nothing more then a blurry mess, and frankly, that scares the crap out of me. That goes without saying, whatever that I will then choose to do will require more and more work on my part.
Therefore I have decided. This year, I will take my studies seriously.

From the impenetratable darkness, it appears!
An update, that is.
It's been more then a month since this place was presented with a new post. During that time, finals came and went away, and I went back to Malaysia for my holidays.
My cousin came back from Australia on the 23rd, and since then, I've been to his house as much as possible. Played endlessly, of course, no question about that. And yes, of course, we soon went to Kino and as expected, brought back bags of books.
My (elder) brother came back to Malaysia, and my mom went to Macau with a few of my aunts and cousins. Good thing for me, I didn't go. A place filled with nothing but casinos would most definitely drive me batshit insane, just from the sheer boredom and lack of things to do.
Met up with my (rather emotionally distressed) friend, who returned the books that I borrowed to her (Shinigami no Ballad, volumes 1 and 2), and sorted a few things out.
Then comes the bad things. Anticipating the horrible net connection in Malaysia, I brought home quite a few books, my PSP, and my PS2 to keep me entertained. I would've had my DS to had it not been for my cousin who borrowed it and told me that I'd see it again in a day or two, got confined and ended not coming back until I went back to Malaysia.
Although there was plenty of things to do, the most that I planned to do was play with my PS2. But as Murphy's Law would have it, it broke down, probably due to old age (4-5 years?). I managed (somehow) to keep myself entertained for the entire time I was in Malaysia, though.
Manga:
-Tegami Bachi - Volumes 3-4 GET!
-Toradora! - Volume 1 GET!
-.hack//XXXX - Volume 1 GET!
-Bartender - Volumes 7-8 GET!
-Ikoku Meiro no Croisee - Volume 1 GET! (Awesome stuff)
Also got another Ryogi Shiki figure.

1/7 scale, S$102.
I must say it was worth the money. Look closely, the details on the kimono are absolutely fantastic.
Or you can look at it here since my camera sucks.

Can I go home now?
I blame the lack of updates on my laziness and..uhh....the crappy net in Malaysia..yeah..that too.
First things first, new members to the family~!
Light novels:
-Watashitachi no Tamura-kun - Volume 1 GET!
-ARIA~Mizu no Miyako to Kanashiki Utahime no Monogatari - Volume 1 (End) GET!
-To Aru Majutsu no Index - Volumes 1 to 5 GET!
-Spice and Wolf - Volume 6 GET!
-.hack//G.U. - Volume 2 GET!
Manga:
-Tegami Bachi - Volumes 1 and 2 GET!
-Bartender - Volumes 1-4, 7-8 GET! They didn't have 5 and 6 when I last checked, so I'll probably get it soon.
And I also got Tetris DS. Yeah, spendings are jumping alright.
Went back to M'sia on the 17th, just got back here this afternoon. Got a call from Kino, telling me that my books were here, and that today was the last day of the 20% offer. Rushed all the way there to get my books, of course. Lucky~!

I came, I saw, I conquered!
Survived the Sumatra expedition, and came back completely unscathed with a sense of accomplishment.
Day 1 was pretty uneventful, waited at the airport to check in for quite a while (two hours, was it?). Flight only took like, 50 minutes (meh).
When we reached, me and my partner for the trip, Perry, were sent to Group B (Group A consisted of only boys, while all the girls were in Group B, along with 9 boys, not counting one male teacher). The teachers who followed our group were Miss Lawrence, Miss Kitchener, and to the relief of many, Mr.Toh. One of our guides looked so familiar, and I soon found out why. It was Dodi, from Loola!
Stayed at a small resort, which in my opinion, is tied for the 2nd best place we stayed at during the trip.
Day 2, was when things started getting "rough" (not at all, compared to everything else)
Played a soccer match with the locals in the morning (I didn't participate) and trekked through rather flat ground to our first campsite.
We (the boys) had to squeeze into one large tent (8 men tent, was it?), but in my opinion, it was still rather comfortable.
One big waterfall near our campsite. But we also had to trek into the jungle to reach another, smaller waterfall, which I think was rather pointless and a waste of both energy and time. Wet our shoes, which was not fun at all and very uncomfortable. Showering in the big waterfall was fun.
We were all woken up in the middle of the night and were told to move somewhere else to sleep because the tents were leaking.
Day 3, in my opinion, was the 2nd hardest day. Lots thought the trek the day before was hard. But this just proved them all absolutely and utterly wrong.
Unlike the day before, we had to carry our own bags (all of them) and trek UP, a mountain (volcano is more like it), Mount Merapi.
Stopped halfway and had snacks. The sugar crackers and chocolate biscuits were the exact same ones I used to eat, so very nostalgic. Got rather high afterwards (SUGAR RUSH!!) and we managed to reach our campsite quite peacefully.
Set up tents and waited for dinner (which was like, more then 3 hours away) which consisted of instant noodles (YAY!). Very quickly realized that we were not being well fed up here.
Day 4, got up at 3:30 in the morning. The plan was to hike up the mountain, reach the very top of it in total darkness, with our torchlights or headlights, and catch the sunrise.
Ultimately failed to do so, but most of us pressed on, climbing all the way up. This was the hardest part of the trip for me, because of my poor physical abilities. The air was so thin, that it took quite alot out of me to get to the top. We did this without breakfast.
I personally climbed a freaking mountain, reaching the peak, with my own hands and legs.
So while I was looking down and wondering how we, without food and therefore energy, were going to get down the mountain, the guides started boiling water, and took out food. Quickly became one of the best breakfast I've had in my life (starving makes food taste that much better) even if it was only two slices of bread with chocolate peanut butter, three crackers and a cup of cereal drink.
The way down was harder (though less tiring) and me helping Kristine soon became something well known and remembered by the group >_>
Reached our campsite, packed our things and started on our way down the mountain itself. Took quite a long time and everyone was glad when we reached the lodge beside the lake.
In my opinion, this was the hardest day. There was little food, limited amounts of water, and lots of hard work.
Day 5, me and Donavan woke up in the morning, walked to the lake, looked around, and saw Mr.Z at a distance. Looking closer, we saw the other group's tents and ran across. Got shooed away by Mr.Z, and were told not to let anyone from the other group to know where we were staying.
They suffered more then we did, hah!
Morning activities consisted of building a raft, and paddling to their campsite. And after that, short visit to the paddy field to learn about the processes and whatnot.
Bus ride, and SUPRISE! (not really, since quite a few of us already knew from Day 1) we got an excellent resort to stay in.
Some of us went out to buy food without permission from the teachers, and were scolded (that includes me).
Dinner was an excellent buffet meal, and we had to perform skits about the trip after that.
Day 6, we were to wake up at 5:30 in the morning, pack, get ready, have breakfast, and set out for the airport by 7. I woke up at like, 4, and sat there waiting for the morning call. But it never came.
Another excellent buffet breakfast later, we were on the bus, heading for the airport (long bus rides are not very fun).
Reached Singapore, and all of us were naturally, very very glad.
There, that concludes the trip in a nutshell. Tiring, but fun and exciting. Wouldn't wanna do it again though.
It's awesome to be back, no shit.
